Packages expire after 12 months. It is the responsibility of each purchaser to make sure the hours are used within this time frame. Leeway will be given on 10 Lesson Packs on a case by case basis.

If the learner needs an extension on the hours due to special circumstances, you must contact the office before your hours expire.

A fee of $25 per hour can be paid to renew your hour/s, if they have recently expired (Please note packages which have expired for more than 6 months are null and void).

The 10-hour package is a great one for beginner drivers. 10 hours = 30 hours in the logbook, which is the maximum you can do to receive extra hours for lessons with a qualified Instructor. If you are not sure what you want, book a 1 hour lesson with one of our instructors who can give you a recommendation as to what package would best suit you based on your skills.

Yes, but there are a few conditions:

  • You must have at least 1 lesson in the instructor's car as they have a dual control brake. This is a safe way for the instructor to assess the student's level of skill before getting into a car with no dual control. Please understand that an instructor may decide if a learner is not ready to use a car without a dual brake during their lessons.
  • You must sign an 'Own Car' form for insurance purposes and send it back to the office prior to starting your lesson in your own car. Please ask the office for this form if required.

Please contact your instructor on the number provided in your confirmation email.

We do not accept cash payments. We accept Visa and Mastercard over the phone or online. Payment can also be made by Bank Transfer/Direct Deposit. Please contact the office for details.

If you are under 25, you must complete at least 120 hours of supervised driving, including a minimum of 20 hours of night driving, and hold your learner licence for at least 12 months before you can sit the NSW Practical Driving Test.

If you are 25 or older, the 120-hour logbook requirement does not apply, but you still need to hold your learner licence and demonstrate that you can drive safely before booking your test.

One great way to reach your 120 hours faster is by taking lessons with a qualified driving instructor — each hour with an instructor counts as 3 logbook hours, up to a maximum of 30 hours credit. Completing the NSW Safer Drivers Course can also add a further 20 logbook hours.

As a learner driver in NSW you must:

  • Display L plates clearly on the front and rear of the vehicle at all times.
  • Have a fully licensed supervisor in the front passenger seat whenever you drive.
  • Not exceed 90 km/h, even if the posted speed limit is higher.
  • Have a zero blood alcohol concentration (0.00 BAC) — no exceptions.
  • Not use a mobile phone in any way while driving, including hands-free or GPS functions.
  • Not tow a trailer or another vehicle.

Once you pass your test and get your P1 (red P plates), the following restrictions apply:

  • Maximum speed of 90 km/h at all times.
  • Zero blood alcohol concentration (0.00 BAC).
  • No mobile phone use whatsoever — including hands-free, Bluetooth, and GPS.
  • If you are under 25, you cannot carry more than one passenger aged under 21 between 11 pm and 5 am (family members are exempt).
  • You cannot drive certain high-performance vehicles (those with a power-to-mass ratio above 130 kW per tonne).
  • If you passed your test in an automatic car, you can only drive automatic vehicles on your P1 licence.
  • You have 4 demerit points — reaching or exceeding this will result in licence suspension.

A P1 licence must be held for a minimum of 12 months before you can progress to a P2 (green P plates) licence.

The NSW Practical Driving Test is conducted by a Service NSW assessor and typically lasts around 20–30 minutes. During the test you will be assessed on:

  • General vehicle control — steering, acceleration, braking and gear changes.
  • Observation and hazard awareness — checking mirrors, blind spots and intersections.
  • Road rules — giving way correctly, following speed limits and traffic signals.
  • Specific manoeuvres — reversing, parallel parking, three-point turns and merging.

Our instructors are highly familiar with the test routes at Brookvale, Castle Hills, Chatswood, Frenchs Forest, Hornsby, Macquarie, Manly and Warriewood Service NSW centres, and will prepare you specifically for the roads and conditions you'll face on test day.

It depends on what car you plan to drive once you have your licence. If you pass your driving test in an automatic car, your licence will be restricted to automatic vehicles only while you are on your P plates. If you pass in a manual, you can drive both manual and automatic vehicles.

Most learner drivers today choose automatic, as it lets you focus on road awareness rather than gear changes. However, if you know you'll regularly drive a manual car, it's worth learning from the start. Our instructors can help you decide what's right for you — book a lesson and ask during your first session.
